Newbie here... I'm a late bloomer

Ok I have refused to hit the boards until I saw every episode. I have just seen the last episode so here I am.

I am a 33 year old female (I know kinda old) and the whole Dawsons Creek story is weird for me. I had refused to watch it when it was on the air as I was running a business and 'had no time to get involved in a show that I knew I would be obsessed with'. The weird thing (I didnt know it was weird until tonight while watching the finale) was that I discovered DC while in the hospital for a heart condition that didnt show until I was pregnant with my first child (sound familiar?) I was a single Mom on my own when I had my daughter Kaity. While in labor I went into congestive heart failure. I have since had two open heart surgeries with a mechincal value replacement.

I caught a few of the DC shows while in the hospital with one of my heart surgeries as it was a re run. I went out and bought the seasons as they came out on DVD. I always identified with jenn but tonight after watching the finale I got a bit freaked out. The whole single Mom facing death thing was really familiar. I kind of thing I was drawn to DC by fate (as dumb as that sounds). After watching Jenn die in the same fashion that I almost died I've had several shots of tequila so this all probably sounds silly.

I just wanted to say hi. The show has completely engrossed me and freaked me out. I think the creator of the show must have known me lol. I'll pop back in later when its not so late and I'm not so fuzzy

I love the show and you must all be great

BTW is there a DC chatroom? I'm way too obsessed lol. I'm actually thinking of moving from Phoenix Arizona to Wilmington just to buy a large house on the creek lol. If anyone has info on the homes in the show going up for sale please fill me in.

OMG i feel the exact same way i totally wanna move there!! i'm dying to go there to check out all the places the flimed and everything...its my dream to live there i think it is just so beautiful! haha i'm so glad i'm not the only one!! ;D

I was wondering did you all go through a period of feeling weird after watching the show end? After the finale the other night I am really bummed. I know this sounds silly but I'm having DC withdrawals. I have 1-4 on DVD and the finale (watched 5 and 6 recently on TBS). I guess I could start over

thats exactly what i do!! i can not wait for seasons 5 and 6 just so that i have them but i am constantly watching seasons 1-4 over and over my friends think theres something wrong w/ me but i just can't help it i dont know what else to do!!

Welcome to the board! I hope all is well. I know what you mean about DC withdrawals. I'm still mad I didn't get the ending I wanted I'm obviously a D/Jer.
