hey, I've been posting a tiny bit on the Love Shack or whatever board and realized it'd be good to post here first.
First of all, I'll say I'm 18 and am a guy. YES haha this show started airing when I was in 5th grade and I never watche dit. I'll be honest...I just made fun of it haha. a week ago I was bored and saw it on TV. I turned to my older bro and said how it'd be funny to download the first season to laugh at it. That's what I did at first but then I realized I started watching more and more. Yes, sad...haha if anything I'm ashamed to be watching this show, but something about it is addicting. It just leaves you wanting to know where the characters will go next. While this show is way too melodramatic, it still catches my attention and will most likely watch it till the end. Keep in mind I'd never buy this, though, haha, but I would watch it for free!
Anyways, so there you go. I'm probably one of the only guys on this board. And I have feeling if there are other guys they're probably gay haha. I honestly was remotely interested to watch it after I saw Batman Begins with Katie Holmes. haha in fact that's mainly the only reason I like this show. I hate to say it but I couldn't care less about Grams, Dawson's parents, Jack, etc. etc. The 4 main characters are pretty good, but I'd have to say if there was no Joey the show would suck. I mean, Jen is just a very *friendly* person who makes out with any guy even when she claims that's not true anymore. The whole Jen/Pacey "deal" was retarded. I've never heard of that in real life with ANYONE haha. okay but this show isn't exactly real, either. Anyways, so far I've seen up to 314 (314 is the next episode to watch). Here you are supposed to be sad for Pacey since he's all depressed as Joey ignores him, but honestly I don't care. Why? because he's betraying his best friend. that's just low and he should be offered no pity. I think the only reason many fans (of whom the target audience is teen females afterall) love D/P is because they're hot for the Pacey character. I thought Pacey was cool and liked the way he was with Andie. Up to the point I've watched, I just see him as crossing the line. there's this bond that's supposed to exist between close guy friends, and it goes bros over hos. enough said, haha. in other words, don't go after each other's ex's unless you have permission. as you can tell i'm a D/J fan, but I can't say I'll stay that way since I have more than half of the series to go. I'm sure there were a lot more D/J fans at the point I am in the series till S4 where D/P supposedly happens. We'll see how it goes.
so that's my two cents. an 18 year old guys' POV who doesn't even know why he's watching it. I'm not one to discriminate, but the thought "i'm acting really gay" comes to mind hehe since that's the stereotype you get when you hear of guys watching shows like this. Go figure. it has me hooked and I apologize for anyone I may have offended.
