Summer's Over (Playing Thread 1)

[Abby_Morgan]

"Mmmm, smells great. My mouth's watering already." Pacey said with a pleased smile. He fished around the fridge for condements while Jack was warming up the chicken.

*Pacey*

"Sounds good. It is a little crowded." Dawson said, telling the cook what they wanted.

Ten minutes later Dawson had heat protective bag in his hand. as well as a normal bag.

"Alright, lets go." He smiled. "I got a few extra things too. That way my mom can snack too. And there's a new cheesecake desert on the menu now, so I got us one of those."

*Dawson*

[Rivallee]

"Cutting it close Joey, so unlike you," she grinned "but a nice way to end the summer right on the day."

Leaning forward, her arms crossed looking at Joey.  "I'll tell you this.  I'm not really excited about starting back at school.  I know we've come this far and it's supposed to be us as seniors but I'm not worried at all.  I guess I just want to get through yet another year at Capeside High."

"Gee if only Andie could hear me now," as Jen rolled her eyes, imagining the look on her friend's face and the lecture that would follow after.  

"That's just me," she shrugged "Are you excited about school then, Joey?"

[Joey P]

"Well...I guess that I am...and I guess that I am not. I mean I am glad to be getting back to the swing of things, but at the same time I never wanted this summer to end. We just had so much fun. But we have college next year too, so I have to start getting ready for that this year as well." Joey sais as she looked at Jen.

"Okay...this chicken is done. Pacey..you want to grab those plates that Jen laid out. There should be some rice made in the fridge...just pop it in the microwave for about 2 minutes and we should be set to go. You ladies going to eat?" Jack gestured to Jen and Joey.

andie's eyes bulged out and she smiled excitedly.  "cheesecake? i LOVE cheesecake!" she told her friend.  "this day isn't turning out to be so bad after all," she said, taking dawson's book so he wouldn't have trouble carrying everything.  she gave him one of her tight-lipped cheery smiles and turned around promptly walking out leary's fresh fish ahead of dawson.

the two friends headed over towards the leery house.  "so, dawson, are you excited about tomorrow?" she asked him.

Jen watched her friend as she listened.  "I see what  you mean Joey about...school but since it's still the last day of our summer holidays let's do something.  Since you both are back now," she answered looking at Pacey then back at Joey.

"I think there was something on tonight or I maybe wrong," frowning in concentration. I think there was something we were going to do with Dawson and Andie as well she thought to herself.

Turning to Jack she asked "Hey Jack.  Was there anything on tonight?"

[Joey P]

"I don't really think so Jen. I thought that Andie said something about you, me, her and Dawson going to the movies or something. Why did you want to do something? I'm sure that Pacey and Joey can join us if they want to." Jack said.

-Jack

"Oh...I mean if you guys all have plans then I really don't want to intrude. Pace and I can find something to do." Joey said trying to avoid seeing Dawson.

-Joey

"Yeah your right Jack," commented Jen, as Jack reminded her of their plans.

"You know you two are welcome to join us tonight," speaking to Joey and Pacey. "Just stop by if you can or if you two don't have any plans."

Jen leaned back in her chair.  She knew it would be awkward if Joey and Pacey joined them tonight with what happened before they left for the summer.   They are going to have sort this out somehow.  I just don't know how it's going to happen Jen thought to herself.

"Yeah...you two came certainly come if you want to." Jack added to Jen's comment as he took his plate over the the table and sat down next to Jen.

Joey looked at Pacey for help on this one. She really didn't feel like facing Dawson just yet. In that back of her mind she knew that it was just a bad idea for them to go tonight. "It's up to you Pace." Joey said with a look in her eyes.

Jen had been watching Joey and Pacey.  They looked unsure of what to do, she smiled and said

"Look.  You guys don't have to make a decision now, " noticing that it looked like a hard one.  "If you do decide to come it would be great but if you don't or something else pops up.  Don't worry about it," looking at them, meaningfully.

"Okay...that sounds like a  plan." Joey said to Jen.

"I love cheesecake too. It's one of the best deserts ever created." Dawson says smiling. "Actually, I think I am ready to go back to school. I mean, I wouldn't mind a few more days of freedom. But I hope that this will be a good year."

*Dawson*

"I'll do whatever you want Jo. I don't have anything planned." Pacey said, not sure yet if he was ready to face Dawson, or Andie for that matter. Andie had seemed really uncomfortable eariler, and he wouldn't want to ruin anyone's fun by showing up and making people uncomfortable or worse.

*Pacey*

"so do i," andie responded.

dawson and andie finally reached the leery house and settled down to eat a late lunch.

[Joey P]

"Well...it's not that I don't want to go...I mean it would be a blast to hang out with you all tonight, but I really should go and get ready for everything that is going to happen tomorrow. Plus I haven't really seen Bessie, Bodie and Alex that much yet. So Pacey...if you want to come over tonight for dinner you can. Maybe we could all do it some other time?" Joey asked Jack and Jen.

-Joey

"That'd be fine." Jack said as he finished his dinner and put his plate in the sink. "You should spend some time with your fam before you start the old school tomorrow." Jack said to Joey and smiled.

-Jack
